Search Function Showing Offline Items Options

Hello,
We have multiple stores using Avactis and customers are starting to complain that "Offline" products are showing in the search results of our search function / page. This should not be. An obvious solution would be to totally delete any items that are no longer in stock, and they won't show up in the search results, but this is not a viable solution for us, many of our items come back into stock at a later date. Anyone found a solution? It seems like a very basic function that should work without any special tweaking, if items are "online" (available) they show up in search results, if they're offline they should not.
