Now customers can shop your online store in two ways: via Quick Checkout, with no registration needed, or via their personal customer account. Having a Customer Account lets your shoppers place repeat orders without entering the same personal information twice. Customer Accounts also enable your customers to view their order history online.
Version 1.8.1 includes a number of bug-fixes, improvements and added features. See below for a detailed list.

New Features in Avactis ver 1.8.1
Search Engine Optimized URLs functionality added.The Search Engine Optimized URLs page is designed for generating HTML URLs for your online storefront. This functionality is optional, because most modern search engines do a good job of indexing the pages of your online storefront, which are generated as .php pages by default. However, this option will be useful if you want your storefront URLs to have the .html extension.
Search Engine Optimization: product and category images.When uploading images, the software attempts to keep the original file name. This helps with search when search engines index your website.
Checkout Form EditorYou can now completely hide the State listbox on Billing and Shipping Info forms.
States during checkoutYou can now hide the State textbox if the country has no states. Previously, this situation would lead to a textbox being shown for manual user input. Now you can customize this by either showing the State textbox or hiding the State listbox completely.
Product Options Inventory: Notifications.You can now receive notifications when the quantity in stock for a certain product option combination reaches a threshold value. This value is defined for each product on the Options tab, after clicking Settings.
Product Options Inventory: Allow to buying products not in stock.You can now allow or disallow buying product option combinations whose quantity in stock is zero or less.
Export CustomersYou can export the list of your customers in CSV format. Customer attributes can be selected before exporting.
Customer Account functionality added. An administrator can:
* Edit the customer registration form
* Determine the activation method for created accounts, including: Activation Not Required, User-Activated, or Administrator-Activated
* Reset user passwords
* Determine the checkout type, including: only Quick Checkout without creating Customer Accounts or Quick Checkout with or without registration
* View the order history for any customer
A user can:
* View their order history
* Save and edit their personal information
* Change their password
* Restore a forgotten password
You can now set taxes included in the product price.This kind of tax is used in Australia, the UK, and many EU countries. They are calculated before checkout is started.
You can now define taxes that do not depend on customer address.This kind of tax is calculated before checkout is started. The customer can see the tax amount right away.

You can now automatically generate a Small Product Image from a Large Product Image.This option is turned off by default. You can activate it on the page "Store Settings >> Detailed Product Images".
New feature 'Related Products'.Now for any product you can now define a number of related products, which will be displayed on the Product Info page in the storefront. You can manage this feature on the Edit Product page (go to Related Products tab).
New feature 'Featured Products'.For any category you can now define a number of Featured Products, which will be displayed in the storefront on Product List pages. Different categories can have different sets of featured products.
New feature 'Bestsellers'.For any category you can now display the list of its best-selling products. This list of products can be generated automatically based on sales statistics from the category, or it can be generated manually. You can also combine the two, that is, manually add selected products to an automatically generated list.
Manage Products and Manage Categories pages now let you quickly navigate to any other category in the product catalog.The Manage Products page now has a redesigned user interface for Move and Copy operations.Moving and copying products has gotten much easier.

Fixed several buxes in Product Export/ImportFixed bug: The fedex tables were not ignored during backup when the table prefix was not empty.
Fixed a bug in Digital Products functionality.Sometimes links failed to get unlocked if the payment was made via a real-time payment gateway.
Fixed a bug on the Shipping Methods page.Clicking the Save button resulted in all selected methods being deactivated.
Fixed a bug on the Manage Products page.If the category name contained an apostrophe, the Javascript tip for such categories would not display.
If the database tables prefix matched the name of some table, a fatal SQL error occurred.Safari browserIn Safari browser, the payment modules management page contained a JavaScript error (now fixed).
JavaScript error on the customer registration pageFixed a JavaScript error which popped up in the storefront on the customer registration page when the a State listbox was hidden but the Country listbox was shown.
Bugs related to handling option stringsFixed all bugs related to handling option strings – option names, descriptions, texts and so on. Previously, HTML generation errors were caused by problematic symbols in these strings, including quotes, parentheses, apostrophes, and so on.
Fixed the design of the search form for MS IE 6 on the page Admin Area->Customers.Fixed the error "Call to undefined function: apache_get_modules()"Fixed an error related to adding a new category.Fixed the bug related to storing Product Options Combination Rules.The database field was limited to 255 characters, and when a formula failed to fit into the field, it would become corrupted. The field has been changed to text format.
Fixed the bug in displaying DIV blocks on the page Product Options Combination Rules.When there were too many options, the DIV element would not fit on the page.
IMPROVEMENTS
"Select product quantity" control added to storefront Shopping Cart page (in default package)Improved the mechanism for blocking buttons on all pages in the Admin Area. Now you can easily see which buttons are turned off in the interface.
Improved the product search algorithmNow the search engine looks in Product Name, SKU, Description, Meta Description, and Keywords. Search has also been optimized for displaying the most relevant results first.
CheckoutIf a customer navigates to checkout, but their registration is required, they will be redirected to the account registration page. After registering on your website, the customer will be redirected back to checkout to continue their ordering process.

WYSIWYG editor loads faster.Product Quantity Discount.You may now define a discount not only for a quantity range, but also separately for specific quantities.
